Udemy is a US-based online learning platform with a large catalogue of on-demand video courses created by independent instructors. Topics include programming, data science, IT certifications, business, marketing, design, photography, music and personal development.

You can buy individual courses and keep access to them, or subscribe to the Personal Plan, which gives access to a collection of courses for a monthly or annual fee in supported countries. Companies can also buy Udemy Business for their teams.

How to save at Udemy

• Check the current price before you buy. Course prices change often and Udemy regularly runs promotions, so a course in your wishlist may cost less a few days later.
• Use the 30-day refund policy. Most eligible courses can be refunded within 30 days of purchase if a course isn’t right for you.
• Ask for the difference if the price drops. If the same course is offered at a lower price within 30 days of your purchase, you can request a partial refund.
• Look for free courses. Udemy has free courses on many topics, which are useful for trying a subject first.
• Compare the Personal Plan. If you plan to take several courses, a subscription may work out cheaper; first-time subscribers may be offered a trial.
• Ask your employer. Many companies provide Udemy Business access as a staff benefit.

Udemy shipping and returns

Everything on Udemy is digital, so there is no shipping: courses are available in your account straight after purchase. Individual course purchases can usually be refunded within 30 days if they meet Udemy’s refund guidelines, but subscriptions are generally not refundable unless the law requires it.
